Your Valentine's Resolution
by Leon Baxter
TheSyndicatedNews columnist

By February half of all Americans have already thrown in the towel when it comes to their New Year’s Resolutions. Sometimes it’s just easier to forget about your broken promises and start again eleven months later.

But, the beauty of resolutions is that you can start them at any time. And, for us parents who are no strangers to being woken at 2:00 a.m. and calming a screaming child on the flight to Cleveland, having to make an unexpected change midstream should be second nature to us.

Therefore, I’m proposing we all make Valentine’s Resolutions, to bring back the romance to our relationships, to see our partner not just as “the other parent” but as our lover.

“But, there’s no time in my day.”
“I’m too exhausted.”
“Who’ll watch the kids?”

Excuses we use to stay exactly where are. The most important bond in your family is between you and your partner, period! You two are the foundation of this unit you’ve built. If the foundation is weak, the structure suffers.

Fall in love with your partner again this Valentine’s Day. Get that flame ablaze and resolve to keep adding tender all year. Not only will it benefit the two of you, but you’ll be modeling a healthy and happy relationship for your children. And, boy, will they feel it; the comfort the security, the warmth that you two will be emitting.

It’s been proven that when couples are feeling loved anxiety levels droop, energy levels rise and they become happier. Imagine growing up in a household with stress-free, energetic, happy parents. Now, there’s a Valentine’s gift that any kid would love.

So, how do you get started? Take my 52-Week Challenge (http://www.couplescommittedtolove.com/report_8_challenge.html) and stick with it. Anything you can do for a year, will become habitual. It’s an investment that will reap incredible benefits for years to come.
